After Le Cheylard, you leave the Eyrieux Valley behind and gain altitude, crossing the numerous structures (bridges and viaducts) which line the La Dolce Via. You’ll find amazing views of Les Collanges Lake and the landscape of the Boutières and the Ardèche mountains, with Mount Gerbier de Jonc and Mount Mézenc in the background.
The highlight of this 8km stretch is the tunnel of Les Nonières. The longest on La Dolce Via – 320 metres (illuminated!) – it takes you beneath the village and continues towards Lamastre and the Doux Valley. At Les Nonières, a specially created path provides access to the village centre by bike or on foot (300 metres, sloping).
⚠️ Warning – Dolce Via ⚠️
During freezing conditions, ice may form inside the tunnels along the Dolce Via, making the surface slippery. We recommend that cyclists adjust their speed, wear appropriate equipment, and exercise extra caution.
